Emily Bankson is in her first season on the Morehead State softball coaching staff. Bankson is an alum of the George Mason softball program where she played when current MSU head coach Megan Griffith was an assistant there.
Bankson played at GMU from 2019-2022. Her senior season included a .304 batting average with seven doubles and two home runs. She batted .270 as a junior.
Bankson is a native of Windsor, Va., where she was a two-time First-Team All-State (2017, 2018) and the Conference Pitcher of the Year in 2017 for Windsor High School.
Bankson served as assistant coach at Woodson High School in Virginia for the 2024 and 2025 seasons as she was a multiple disabilities educator at the school since 2022.
Bankson also served as fielding and hitting instructor at HammerZone Sports in Fairfax in 2024 and 2025.
Bankson earned her bachelor's degree from George Mason in 2021 and earned a Master's of Special Education degree from GMU in 2022.
