The Morehead State University Marching Band has a long-standing tradition of excellence. Through the years it has provided quality musical performances in a wide variety of venues including a Presidential Inaugural parade; numerous gubernatorial inaugural parades; Bengals and Colts football games; regional, state and local exhibitions and parades. It performs at all home football games and is visible throughout the region in area events. For more than fifteen years the Morehead State University Marching Band has hosted the Blue and Gold Festival of Marching Bands, an innovative concept in marching band festivals designed to provide an educational experience for students. The Marching Band is under the direction of Dr. Susan Creasap, Associate Director of Bands. She is assisted by Mr. Brian Mason who is responsible for all aspects of the Morehead State University Marching Percussion. The MSU Marching Band is open to all MSU students regardless of major.

Men's Basketball
Men's Basketball senior Ty Proffitt recorded a team-high 18 points on 5-of-6 from the field, 4-of-5 from three-point range and 4-of-4 from the free-throw line in Tuesday’s 75-69 victory over Norfolk State. 

He then registered a season-best 20 points on 6-of-10 from the floor, 4-of-7 from long range and 4-of-4 from the charity stripe in Saturday’s 56-50 win over Tennessee Tech. 

The guard, who hails from London, Ky., connected on 69 percent from the field (11-of-16) and 67 percent from downtown (8-of-12) in addition to making all eight free-throw attempts.  He also committed just four turnovers in 65 minutes last week.

Proffitt was also named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week for his performances this past week.

Women's Tennis
Junior women's tennis player Brooke Helms went undefeated in singles action over the weekend, as she tallied two individual match wins. 

Helms clinched the come-from-behind 4-3 victory over Big East power West Virginia, a 7-5, 2-6, 6-4 at number five singles.  Helms then was only one of two Eagle netters to score a win in a 5-2 loss at Duquesne , winning 6-3, 6-4 at number five.
