2008 -- Played in 11 games, earning First Team All-Pioneer Football League honors and was a PFL Academic Honor Roll member. Registered a team-high 102 tackles, 59 solo and 43 assisted. Had 19.5 tackles for loss for 61 yards. Recorded four sacks for 23 yards. Broke up nine passes and one quarterback hurry. Forced one fumble and recovered three fumbles with 20 return yards. Had six games with double-digit tackles, including a 14-tackle game at Eastern Kentucky. 2007 -- Named Second Team All-Pioneer Football League. Also Second Team Academic All-PFL. Earned a spot on the Football Championship Subdivision Athletic Directors Association Academic All-Star Team. Ranked second on the team with 64 total tackles. Also credited with 8.5 tackles for loss, one sack, two pass interceptions returned 18 yards, on pass break-up and one fumble recovered. Had 10 tackles at Valparaiso and three tackles for loss vs. Robert Morris. 2006 -- The last individual to see as much action as Wes McDermott did as a true freshman middle linebacker at Morehead State was three-time mid-major All-American Craig Unger. As a part-time starter, he ranked fifth on the team with 41 total tackles. Also credited with 3.5 tackles for loss and one sack. Played in every game that season with several starts. Member of the PFL Academic Honor Roll. Prior to MSU -- Earned all-state and all-city mention as a lineman at Louisville Holy Cross High School.
