JACKSONVILLE, Ala. – Despite holding a 1-0 lead at halftime, Morehead State soccer fell 2-1 at Jacksonville State on Sunday at JSU Soccer Field.
Following the setback, the Eagles fall to 3-11-1 on the season, managing a 2-5-1 record in the Ohio Valley Conference. Jacksonville State moves to 3-6 in league play, with an overall record of 6-9-2.
Morehead State attempted four shots in the opening half, capitalizing in the 24th minute.

The Gamecocks attempted eight shots in the first 45 minutes, but the Morehead State defense held strong for a 1-0 lead at the break. It was in the second half of Sunday's contest, the last of five straight road matches for the Eagles, that Jacksonville State created more separation than Morehead State could match.
JSU forwards Emma Meadows and Kayla Thompson each scored within the game's final 20 minutes off assists from sophomore Rachel Blanding, as the Gamecocks outshot MSU 10-1 in the second half.

Michelle Washburn grabbed six saves in the loss, her seventh performance of at least six saves this season.
Morehead State returns home for its final 2017 match at Jayne Stadium next weekend. The Eagles host the Bruins of Belmont (9-5-1, 5-3 OVC) on Friday at 6 p.m. ET.
