Kruunenberg picked No. 2 in OVC preseason rankings

MOREHEAD, Ky.—Morehead State junior Ritchie Kruunenberg has been selected No. 2 in the OVC men's tennis top-ten player rankings for the start of the 2016 season.
 
In 2015, as a sophomore, the Nieuw-Vennep, Netherlands native finished with a 10-8 record overall, and had strong 6-2 showing in OVC play.
 
Pairing up with then-junior Gabriel Ruiz, he accumulated a 7-8 record and finished 3-2 in OVC competition during doubles play.
 
In 2016, Kruunenberg is 0-1 in singles play and 1-0 in doubles with Ruiz.
 
The men's team was picked to finish in the middle of the pack at No. 6, gathering 57 votes. SIUE tallied 84 votes, including four first-place votes, and was voted No. 1. The defending OVC Champions, the Eastern Kentucky Colonels, sit at No.3.
 
The Eagles have started their season 0-2 with tough competition against No. 36 Louisville and Xavier.
