CHICAGO, Ill—The Morehead State Men's Tennis team started their run in the River Forest Collegiate Invitational with multiple wins in various flights throughout the day.

In Flight A Doubles play juniors
Ritchie Kruunenberg and
Gabriel Ruiz teamed up for a 6-5 win over Northern Illinois and followed it up with 6-3 win over DePaul. They will team up again Saturday to take on Xavier at 9:30 a.m.

In Flight B senior
Nick Mercer and sophomore
Sabastian Penaloza teamed up for a 6-5 win over San Diego State, followed by a 6-4 win over Northern Illinois. Flight C featured the group of seniors
Garrett Mandrell and
Enrique Samudio claiming victory over Northern Illinois 6-4, but lost in their second set of the day against OVC rival Belmont, 6-2.

The pair of Mercer and Penaloza will continue their run in Flight B, Saturday at 9:30 a.m. against University Illinois- Chicago. Mandrell and Samudio will face Detroit also at 9:30 a.m. in Flight C.
Kruunenbergy also advanced in Flight A singles as he won in two sets. Mercer and Penaloza both advanced in Flight B. Mandrell and Samudio both fell in Flight C, while
Tyler Edlin and
Robby Berry both lost in Flight D.Â
