RICHMOND, Ky. -- Senior right-hander Leanna Pittsenbarger scattered three hits over five scoreless innings, and the Eastern Kentucky softball team plated eight runs in the first two frames to post a 10-0 Ohio Valley Conference win over Morehead State on Sunday afternoon at Hood Field.

The Colonels improve to 14-18 overall, 5-4 in league action and 3-4 at home.  The Eagles fall to 11-14 overall, 3-4 in conference play and 3-5 on the road.  Morehead State still wins the series, two games to one, after registering 7-4 and 6-5 victories over Eastern Kentucky on Sunday.

Pittsenbarger, who improved to 6-7 with the victory, needed just 79 pitches to record the complete-game performance.  She allowed no walks and struck out seven of the 18 batters she faced.

EKU collected 10 hits in its four at-bats, including three for extra bases.  Senior third baseman Shannon McQueen led the attack with a 3-for-3 effort, two runs and two RBI.  She managed an RBI single in the first, RBI double in the second and her third base knock in the fourth.

Freshman right-hander Mackenzie Grossmann, who fired 58 pitches, fell to 6-5 with the loss.  She yielded three hits, four walks and five earned runs in 1.1 innings.  Senior right-hander Tanna Seuferer and sophomore right-hander Megan Tymorek allowed two runs each out of the MSU bullpen.

Sophomore shortstop Karly Thompson notched two of Morehead State's three hits.  She had singles in the first and fourth frames.  The Eagles posted 23 base knocks in Saturday's doubleheader.

Morehead State returns to action on Tuesday when it hosts Horizon League opponent Cleveland State in a 2 p.m. ET doubleheader.  Tickets for games/doubleheaders at University Field are $5 for adults and $2 for children 12-and-under while MSU students are admitted free with a valid ID.
