MOREHEAD, Ky. – Morehead State athletics has announced its promotions for the three upcoming home basketball dates.
MSU students will be eligible to win multiple gift cards to various businesses during Thursday’s men’s contest against Jacksonville State as part of the Date Night Giveaway. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. ET.
On Saturday, the Eagles take on Tennessee Tech for a doubleheader that tips off at 5:15 p.m. with the women and the men to follow at approximately 7:30.
The first 1,000 fans will receive black rally towels to help MSU “blackout” Johnson Arena. The MSU ROTC will also present a rapelling demonstration, and there will be a Wounded Warrior Presentation.
The Wounded Warrior Project works to help awareness for injured service members. It also provides programs and assistance to those service members.
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is partnering with Hoops for Heroes to raise money to send a veteran to the Ohio Valley Conference Basketball Tournament in Nashville March 6-9. Chickabiddy Yogurt will also donate 10 percent of each sale this weekend to the cause.
The doubleheader also serves as the Eagles’ “Play 4Kay” night, as well as Alumni Night. The “Play 4Kay” initiative seeks to raise awareness and funds for women’s cancer research with the aid of basketball coaches across the country in partnership with the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association. Pink t-shirts will be sold at the game.
Monday’s 6 p.m. women’s tip against Jacksonville State is Health, Wellness and Human Performance night, in addition to the regular Family Fun Night. The HWHP department will sponsor activities during timeouts and halftime. All tickets for this contest are half price.
