MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Alex DelPiombo has joined the Morehead State volleyball staff as director of operations. She will handle of majority of the video work for the Eagles as well as serve in a variety of other day-to-day support roles.
DelPiombo was a recipient of a 2011 American Volleyball Coaches Association Coaches4Coaches Scholarship.
A starting setter her final two seasons at Gannon University (Pa.), she helped GU to three Division II NCAA Tournament berths. DelPiombo was team captain for two seasons and finished her career with 1,754 assists to rank seventh in school history.
She was a four-time winner of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete award and was a member of the school's Dean's List four times.
A native of Monroe, Mich, DelPiombo graduated from Gannon in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in communications. She attended St. Mary's Catholic Central High School, where she was a two-sport (volleyball, softball) star and led her volleyball team to a state title her junior season.
