MOREHEAD, Ky. -- Morehead State senior-to-be Rainer Duzan has been selected to the 2012 College Football Performance Awards Placekicker Watch List. The list recognizes the Football Championship Subdivision’s top kickers entering the season.
A native of Dublin, Ohio, Duzan is a two-time First-Team All-Pioneer Football League honoree. He led all PFL kickers with 85 points in 2011, converting 12-of-17 field-goal attempts. Duzan also drilled a league-high 49 extra-point attempts and booted a career-best 49-yard field goal against Butler.
He established PFL and MSU records for points in a game by a kicker when he drilled four field goals and seven PATs en route to 19 points in the season-opening 67-0 win over Kentucky Christian.
Duzan earned three PFL Special Teams Player of the Week honors and was also named to the PFL Honor Roll, the PFL Academic All-League list and the FCS ADA Academic All-Star Team.
He joins Marist’s Jason Myers as the only PFL kickers represented on this watch list.
Morehead State begins regular-season action on Thursday, Aug. 30, when Southern Virginia visits Jayne Stadium at 7 p.m. ET. It will be the first of six home games for the Eagles in 2012.
