MSU Asks Fans to "Think Pink" at Monday's Women's Basketball Game

MOREHEAD, Ky. -- The Morehead State Athletic Department is asking all fans to "Think Pink" for this Monday's home women's basketball game against Jacksonville State at 6 p.m.

The Eagles will be hosting a Think Pink event, in conjunction with the Play 4Kay Initiative. All fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game. The first 100 students will receive a free "Think Pink" t-shirt. Shirts will also be available for purchase for $5 at the game.

Students will also have the opportunity to win prizes from Lexington restaurants and AMC Theaters. All proceeds from the event will go to benefit the Kay Yow Cancer Fund (KYCF).

Play 4Kay, formerly known as WBCA Pink Zone, is an initiative that allows a nation of coaches to raise awareness and funds for cancer research on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond. The official charity is the KYCF.

The late Kay Yow, former North Carolina State University head women's basketball coach, served as the catalyst for Play 4Kay after her third recurrence of breast cancer in 2006. Yow was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1987, and passed away on January 24, 2009.

Since 2006, thousands have joined Coach Yow's team in the fight against breast cancer and raised more than $1.5 million for the KYCF.
