SATURDAY'S GAME STORY | DUZAN'S GBG STATS
MOREHEAD, Ky. – Morehead State junior kicker Rainer Duzan has been named Pioneer Football League Special Teams Player of the Week for a second time this season.
Duzan knocked down all three of his field-goal attempts (39 yds, 39 yds and 36 yds) and all five of his extra-point tries in Saturday’s heartbreaking 48-44 setback to San Diego. He also averaged 63.6 yards on nine kickoffs for the Eagles.
Through four games this year, Duzan leads the PFL in extra points per game (5.50), field goals per game (1.75) and field-goal percentage (87.5).
Duzan, a native of Dublin, Ohio, was a First-Team All-League selection in 2010. He also earned the PFL’s Special Teams Player of the Week award on Sept. 4.
Jonathan Carkhuff (Davidson), Josh McGregor (Jacksonville) and Mason Mills (San Diego) all earned a piece of this week’s offensive honor, while Brandon Coleman (Drake) received the nod on defense.
Morehead State, 1-3 overall and 0-1 in the PFL, returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Valparaiso for a 2 p.m. ET start.
