CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – UT Martin’s Lucy Pater scored in the 75th minute to lift the Skyhawks to a 2-1 victory in the Ohio Valley Conference championship match on Sunday afternoon at Houck Stadium.
Morehead State ends its season at 11-8-3, while UTM improves to 14-6-2 and will receive the OVC automatic bid to the 2011 NCAA tournament.

Brittany MacLennan put the Eagles on the board first with her third goal of the season in the 36th minute. On a corner kick from senior defender
Sarah Phillip, MacLennan headed the ball past UTM goalkeeper Mariah Klenke. The Eagles went into halftime leading 1-0.
The momentum turned in the 69th minute, as Midori Sera was shown a yellow card. The Skyhawks evened the match up three minutes later as Melissa Govea headed the ball past senior goalkeeper

Just four minutes later Lucy Pater redirected in another McGowen free kick for the game-winning goal in the 75th minute. Morehead State pushed for the equalizer, but Klenke made play after play to preserve the win for the Skyhawks.
UT Martin outshot the Eagles 7-5, with four Eagle shots on goal. Seniors

Brittany Kiracofe,
Brittany MacLennan and
Sarah Phillip each tallied one shot each. MSU took five corners to UTM’s one, while both teams combined for 24 fouls. Jordan was also shown a yellow card in the 88th minute.
Blevins tallied one save in the match, while Klenke notched three.
Seniors MacLennan and Birchmeier, along with junior
Alyssa Nacke, were named to the OVC All-Tournament team.
