MOREHEAD, Ky. – Morehead State senior goalkeeper
Lily Meisner has been named to the 2010 Jewish Sports Review All-American team, announced the publication earlier this month.
Meisner led her squad to a school-record 13 victories, finishing the year undefeated in conference play at 7-0-1, which was the second straight season the Eagles did not suffer a regular season conference loss. MSU was crowned regular season champions for the second consecutive year and continued its success, winning the OVC Tournament Championship as well. The Eagles advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in school history. MSU battled Big East power West Virginia but fell 2-0.
The Taos, N.M., native was named Second-Team All-OVC goalkeeper and won OVC Player of the Week two times. Meisner will go down as one of the best goalkeepers in school history. Her 26 career wins is the most ever, and her 215 career saves is fourth all-time. She recorded 5,096 minutes in goal, which is the most by an Eagle goalkeeper. Lily finished her career with 18 shutouts, the second most in school history, and she was part of the winningest senior class in MSU history, capturing 34 victories.
