MOREHEAD, Ky.—Morehead State junior defensive end
Jerome Raymond was named the Pioneer League Defensive Player of the Week. Raymond had a standout performance in the Eagles season opening loss at No. 15 James Madison Saturday.
The Lawrenceville, Ga., native recorded eight tackles, four of which were solo. Those numbers also including 2.5 tackles for loss, driving back JMU ball carriers a total of 20 yards. Raymond also was on hand to recover a pair of fumbles, posting 15 yards in fumble returns.
Morehead State opens its home slate Saturday at Jayne Stadium, hosting St. Francis at 1:00 p.m.
