Jessica Montemayor
MOREHEAD, Ky. – Morehead State tennis coach Kevin Fulton announced Monday the signing of Jessica Montemayor to a National Letter of Intent.

A native of Monterrey, Mexico she played Junior College tennis for Cowley County Community College. The Tigers finished fourth last season in the NJCAA National Championships. Montemayor, who played no. 2 singles and no. 1 doubles as a freshman, was ranked 24th in singles, but she made the semifinals of both singles and doubles last season as a sophomore.

“I feel we stole one with Jessica,” Fulton said. “I talked to several coaches about her and she is a perfect fit for our program. She plays with fire and passion, which is exactly what we were looking to add to our team. Jessica is a competitor on and off the court; she excels in the classroom posting a 3.6 GPA at Cowley. In addition, despite missing part of the season to illness, she still made the semifinals of both singles and doubles at the NJCAA national championships. I look forward to watching her development this fall.
