MOREHEAD, Ky.—Morehead State men's basketball has signed Prattville, Ala. native Dionte Ferguson to a National Letter of Intent coach
Donnie Tyndall announced Monday.
Ferguson, a 6-7, 205-pound forward for Lions coach Xavier Robinson, earned 6A All-State Honorable Mention. He recorded 24 double-doubles in averaging 16.5 points and 14.1 rebounds as a senior. He also was the 5A-6A All-Metro Player of the Year. He scored more than 20 points on five different occasions, including a 34-point game against Chilton County High School. He also had three 20-plus rebound games.
“We are pleased to have Dionte Ferguson as a part of our program,” Tyndall said. “Dionte is a long, athletic frontline player that has a very bright future. He can block shots, runs the floor very well and will give us another versatile young forward that can play both positions. He has a very good work ethic and loves the game and has a great passion to improve.”
Morehead State finished the 2009-10 season at 24-11, one win shy of the school record for victories. It was the first time in MSU history the Eagles have had back-to-back 20-win seasons. MSU also set a school record with 15 OVC wins during the regular season.
