BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Morehead State freshman
Marisa Kamelgarn earned her third Golfer of the Week Award from the Ohio Valley Conference the league announced on Wednesday.
Kamelgarn, a native of Mahopac, N.Y. shot a final round 72 (even par) to rocket from 12th place to second overall at last week’s EKU Lady Colonel Classic in Richmond, Ky. Entering next week’s OVC Championship, Kamelgarn leads the OVC with a 75.9 stroke average.
It marks the second straight week a MSU women’s golfer has earned the weekly award. Emma Jonsson earned the award last week. Kamelgarn also was named OVC Golfer of the Week twice in the fall.
Morehead State will next play in the OVC Championship April 22-24.
