MOREHEAD, Ky. - Lily Meisner is not just a standout athlete, but also a standout student. On the field she is Morehead State’s steady goalkeeper, playing in every game this past season and helping the program to its first ever regular season Ohio Valley Conference Championship. In the classroom she is the best the Department of Agricultural Sciences has to offer after being named the Outstanding 4 Year Graduating Student by the department.
Meisner is scheduled to graduate in December after completing her final year of eligibility on the soccer pitch. The Taos, N.M. native is planning on doing a three week internship with a veterinarian in the African nation of Kenya and will do an international internship next spring with graduate school on the horizon in the fall of 2011.
“I’m excited because it means a lot to me to do well in the classroom as well as on the field,” said Meisner. “It has been a lot of hard work and I am thankful my parents supported me athletically and academically so I could enjoy and pursue both.”
