MOREHEAD, Ky.—
Morehead State men’s basketball will host Colorado State in the first round of the College Basketball Invitational Wednesday night at Johnson Arena. The game will tip at 9 p.m. and will be televised on HD Net.

Tickets for the event will be sold beginning on Monday morning. Morehead State season ticket holders will be able to purchase tickets from 10 a.m. to 3 pm. after which the tickets sales will be open to the general public. Reserved tickets will be $20 and general admission will be $15. All MSU students will be admitted for free with a valid student ID.

The Eagles (23-10) will participate in the postseason for the second consecutive year. It will mark the first time MSU has played in the three-year-old CBI. MSU finished second in the Ohio Valley Conference regular season with a 15-3 record and lost in the championship game to Murray State.

Colorado State is 16-14 overall and 7-9 in the Mountain West Conference. The Rams lost six of their final seven games and were 3-10 on the road this season.

“I believe anytime you have the opportunity to play in postseason that’s a tribute to the type of successful season you’ve had and the respect that our program has gained on a national level,” Morehead State coach Donnie Tyndall said.

A 16-team tournament, the CBI begins with first round games Tuesday and Wednesday. The quarterfinals will be played March 22 and the semifinals are played two days later on March 24. The championship round is a best of three series and all games in all rounds are hosted at home sites. Each team is re-seeded after each round of the tournament.

“I want to thank our fans for the tremendous support they’ve shown us all year,” Tyndall said. “We are thrilled to have the chance to continue to play, but even more excited that we’ll have an opportunity to do it in Johnson arena, and I again challenge our fans to come out and support us in the postseason.”
