OVC Basketball Tournament All-Session Tickets On Sale Now

BRENTWOOD, Tenn. - All-Session tickets for the 2010 Ohio Valley Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament will go on sale through the Sommet Center ticket office and Ticketmaster on Thursday, Jan. 14 beginning at 10 a.m. CT.

The semifinals and finals will be held March 5-6 at the Sommet Center in downtown Nashville. The event includes four sessions (6 games); the price for an all-session ticket is $50.

The women's semifinals will begin at 12 p.m. on Friday, March 5 with the men's semifinals following at 6 p.m. that evening.  The women's championship game will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 6 with the men's championship game beginning at 7 p.m. that evening.

Fans can purchase tickets by calling the Sommet Center ticket office (615-770-2040) or Ticketmaster (615-255-9600). Tickets can also be purchased online through Ticketmaster.com.

First round games will be held on campus sites on Tuesday, March 2 and are not part of the all-session ticket.

Men's Basketball
Men's Basketball senior Ty Proffitt recorded a team-high 18 points on 5-of-6 from the field, 4-of-5 from three-point range and 4-of-4 from the free-throw line in Tuesday’s 75-69 victory over Norfolk State. 

He then registered a season-best 20 points on 6-of-10 from the floor, 4-of-7 from long range and 4-of-4 from the charity stripe in Saturday’s 56-50 win over Tennessee Tech. 

The guard, who hails from London, Ky., connected on 69 percent from the field (11-of-16) and 67 percent from downtown (8-of-12) in addition to making all eight free-throw attempts.  He also committed just four turnovers in 65 minutes last week.

Proffitt was also named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week for his performances this past week.

Women's Tennis
Junior women's tennis player Brooke Helms went undefeated in singles action over the weekend, as she tallied two individual match wins. 

Helms clinched the come-from-behind 4-3 victory over Big East power West Virginia, a 7-5, 2-6, 6-4 at number five singles.  Helms then was only one of two Eagle netters to score a win in a 5-2 loss at Duquesne , winning 6-3, 6-4 at number five.
