FAIRFAX, Va. - Freshman outside hitter Ellie Roberson piled up 11 kills Friday and hit .296 to lead the Morehead State volleyball team to a 3-0 (25-12, 25-19, 25-19) sweep of Cornell in the Eagles' first match at the Patriot Invitational.

The Eagles improved to 4-0 this year and have won all four matches by 3-0 counts. On Friday, MSU limited the Big Red to a .027 hitting percentage as the Eagles landed seven aces and collected three solo and six block assists.

Junior setter Kirstie Brangers notched her first double-double of the year with a match high 32 assists and a team high 12 digs. Junior Kaitlin Craven added nine kills and had 12 digs, and junior Holly Evans posted eight kills. Freshman Annie Gruenschlaeger led the team with five total blocks.

Erin McCarthy led the Big Red with six kills. On defense Kristina Schoo tallied 11 digs for MSU.

MSU will battle Kent State on Saturday at 10 a.m. and George Mason at 7 p.m.
