Eagles Tie for Fifth at the Wasioto Winds Fall Kick-off

PINEVILLE, Ky. –
The Morehead State Men’s golf team finished in a tie with Southern Illinois for fifth at the Wasioto Winds Fall Kick-off after carding a final round score of 295 for a 54-hole total of 879. 

The Eagles finished thirteen strokes behind event champion, John A. Logan Community College (287-291-288-866). Northern Kentucky was the top finishing four year institution, taking second place with a (291-288-295-874). 

Fellow Ohio Valley Conference schools Eastern Illinois (fourth, 300-292-284-876), Eastern Kentucky (seventh, 293-296-301-890), UT-Martin (ninth, 299-292-302-893), and Southern-Illinois Edwardsville (tenth, 300-300-298-898) also competed in the tournament. 

Thomas Reddick was the top MSU finisher in 12th place after firing rounds of 74-70-73-217, while Dean Schneider finished two strokes back in a tie for 14th place (73-67-79-219). 

Jeff Pierce shot the low Eagle round of the day with a 72. Pierce finished the competition in a tie for 16th place (74-74-72-220). Rounding out the MSU scoring five were Alex Misback in a tie for 33rd (76-77-73-226) and Jared Flanery in a tie for 51st (78-76-77-231). 

Three other Eagle golfers competed as individuals in the tournament. Daniel Iceman finished in a tie for 20th after firing rounds of 75-74-73 for a final score of 222. Alex Wright finished one stroke back of Iceman in 23rd (73-73-77-223), while Joseph Hayden finished in 62nd (82-78-80-240). 

Zack Butler of Eastern Kentucky, playing as an individual, took medalist honors after shooting a three round score of 206, besting second-place finisher Jordan Cox of Southern Illinois by two strokes. Joining Butler and Cox on the All-Tournament team were Braeden Cryderman (Queens), Marcelo Rozo (John A. Logan), and Matthew Smith (John A. Logan).
