MOREHEAD, Ky. - The Morehead State women's golf team, in its second year after resurrecting the program, will begin the 2009-10 season on Sunday, Aug. 30 at home with tri-match against Eastern Kentucky and Marshall. The one-day, 18-hole event will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Eagle Trace Golf Course in Morehead.

Head coach Stephanie Barker will field two teams in the event, utilizing her entire lineup of 10 student-athletes.

The Eagles finished third in the Ohio Valley Conference in 2008-09 in their first championship. MSU had a women's golf program in the early 1980s but it was disbanded after only two years.

Junior Paige Lausier was MSU's top golfer last season, while sophomore Sara Jackson also was named all-conference. Newcomers Emma Eksell and Marissa Kamelgarn will see their first action as Eagles.
