Softball Set to Host Fall Skills Camp

Fall Skills Camp Registration Form

MOREHEAD, Ky - The Morehead State softball coaching staff will be hosting a Fall skills camp for current high school freshman through seniors on Saturday, Sept. 26 at the MSU softball facility.

The camps will run from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. with three different sessions. Players can choose to register for only one session, two sessions, or all three. The hitting session will run from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. with the defensive session set for 12:30-4 p.m. The day will end with a scrimmage session from 4:30 -8 p.m.

The corst is only $60 for one session, $100 for two sessions, or $140 for all three. Please note that no refunds will be given for inclement weather.

Men's Basketball
Men's Basketball senior Ty Proffitt recorded a team-high 18 points on 5-of-6 from the field, 4-of-5 from three-point range and 4-of-4 from the free-throw line in Tuesday’s 75-69 victory over Norfolk State. 

He then registered a season-best 20 points on 6-of-10 from the floor, 4-of-7 from long range and 4-of-4 from the charity stripe in Saturday’s 56-50 win over Tennessee Tech. 

The guard, who hails from London, Ky., connected on 69 percent from the field (11-of-16) and 67 percent from downtown (8-of-12) in addition to making all eight free-throw attempts.  He also committed just four turnovers in 65 minutes last week.

Proffitt was also named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week for his performances this past week.

Women's Tennis
Junior women's tennis player Brooke Helms went undefeated in singles action over the weekend, as she tallied two individual match wins. 

Helms clinched the come-from-behind 4-3 victory over Big East power West Virginia, a 7-5, 2-6, 6-4 at number five singles.  Helms then was only one of two Eagle netters to score a win in a 5-2 loss at Duquesne , winning 6-3, 6-4 at number five.
