Nathan Martin

MOREHEAD, Ky. - Nathan Martin, the fifth-ranked senior men's tennis player in Kentucky and a product of Lawrence County High School, has signed a national letter of intent to join the Morehead State men's tennis program. Martin is a five-time 15th Region Player of the Year, was named All-State in 2009, and won the state Sportsmanship Award this season.

"I am very excited that Nathan will be joining our program this fall. The upside to his potential is tremendous. Nathan has had a brilliant junior career, but I think the best tennis is ahead of him," said head coach Kevin Fulton. "He has seen what we are building here and told me he wants to help take us on the next step, which is competing for and OVC championship."

Martin has compiled more than 150 varsity victories and has five regional titles to his name. He has also qualified for the state tournament five times and has been ranked in the top 50 in the USTA Southern section rankings.

Martin has an unblemished five-year regional record, and he has been named All-Area Player of the Year twice. He has also been tabbed All-Area six times.
