Men's Basketball Garnering Attention From National Media

Morehead State men's basketball has gotten the attention of several national media outlets and prominent basketball analysts this season. In addition to being picked first in several different preseason prognostications, MSU has been noticed by ESPN's Jay Bilas, Fox Sports'  Jeff Goodman and Rivals.com.

In a column on Nov. 6, Bilas listed the things he was looking forward to seeing during the upcoming season. Among that list was the following entry:

"I want to check out Morehead State's Kenneth Faried, Hofstra's Charles Jenkins and Vermont's Marqus Blakely, knowing they could play anywhere …"

David Fox of Rivals.com included Faried on his Top 10 Under the Radar players:

"Faried struggled with test scores out of high school. Once he made the grade, bigger programs came calling, but he repaid Morehead State's loyalty by sticking with his commitment to the Eagles. He is the nation's leading returning rebounder after averaging 13 boards per game last season. He was stellar late last season, averaging 16 points and 15.2 rebounds in the OVC tournament, the NCAA tournament play-in game and a first-round loss to top-seeded Louisville. "

A columnist for the Bluegrass State Basketball website shared a conversation he had with Jeff Goodman of Fox Sports regarding Kenneth Faried:

"Faried is certainly a kid that can play at the next level. He's one of the most underrated frontcourt guys in the country and he proved it last season. He is very active on the glass and plays hard all the time," says Goodman.

Morehead State will hold its second and final exhibition Monday at 7 p.m. at Johnson Arena. The Eagles tip-off the regular season Friday at Kentucky at 6 p.m. That game will be televised on ESPNU.
