MOREHEAD, Ky. - Morehead State freshman volleyball student-athlete Annie Gruenschlaeger is ranked among the nation's top players on defense, and the Eagles as a team rank among the nation's best at blocking as well.

According the latest NCAA Division stats rankings, Gruenschlaeger is ranked 10th nationally in blocks per set at 1.44. Her 138 total rejections, however, is the second highest total in the nation behind only the 153 put up by Syracuse senior Sarah Morton. That makes Gruenschlaeger the leading freshman blocker in the nation.

She needs only eight more blocks assists to break the MSU season record of 122.

As a team, the Eagles rank 19th in the nation with their 2.68 per set block average.
