MURRAY, Ky.—The Morehead State men’s golf team finished in 12th place after the third round of the Murray State Invitational was rained out Tuesday. The event, which had two rounds played Monday at the par-72, 6,601-yard Miller Memorial Golf Club, was rained out after two hours of play, making Monday's results final. The Eagles shot a 597 (296-301) in the first 36 holes.
Freshman Jared Flanery led the Eagles with a 147 (75-72) to tie for 31st overall. Alex Misback was just two strokes behind Flanery with a 149 (74-75), good for a tie for 37th place. Crit Reddick and Jeff Pierce tied at 46th with a 151. Reddick shot a 76-75 and Pierce had the low round on the first 18 with a 71-80. Matthew Logan rounded out the MSU scoring with a 159 (80-79) and is tied for 69th.
"We're not quite ready with our swing at this point, but we will bein the very near future," MSU coach Rex Chaney said.
Host Murray State won the event with a 569 (281-288). Tennessee Tech (T4th-581), SIU-Edwardsville (7th-585) and UT-Martin (8th-591) were the other Ohio Valley Conference teams at the event.
