Morehead, Ky. – The first annual Head Hysteria was held last night in Johnson Arena. On showcase were both Morehead State men’s and women’s basketball teams. The women were tabbed as the preseason OVC favorite and Chyna Bozeman was picked as the preseason Player of the Year. The men were selected as co-preseason favorites along with Murry State, and Kenneth Faried was honored with the preseason Player of the Year award.

MC for the event, David Patrick of WKYT, kicked off the night with player and coach introductions. The first event of the night was the three point contest in which Maze Stallworth for the Eagle men defeated Chyna Bozeman of the Eagle woman to take the title as the sharpest shooter from beyond the arc.

The most exciting event of the night was the dunk contest. The panel of judges consisted of: Morehead State President Dr. Wayne Andrews, Tennis Head Coach Kevin Fulton, a randomly selected student judge, women’s basketball player Chyna Bozeman, and MSU favorite Beaker. The final round was between Sam Goodman and Kenneth Faried. Goodman and Faried had numerous crowd wowing dunks, however Faried came out victorious and won the dunk contest.

The event finished with a 12 minute scrimmage by the men’s team. The first annual Head Hysteria saw lots of great action and was a great preview for this year’s upcoming basketball season.
