Men's Basketball OVC Champs
MOREHEAD, Ky.—Morehead State basketball will host the first annual Head Hysteria Thursday at 7 p.m. at Johnson Arena to kick off the 2009-2010 basketball season.

Both the men's and women's basketball teams will participate in the event, which will feature a 3-point contest, a dunk contest, a dance contest and a blue-gold scrimmage by the men's basketball team. It will be a chance for Eagle fans to come out and see the talents and skills of this season's men's and women's basketball teams.

The women's team is picked to win the Ohio Valley Conference in 2009-10 in a vote by the league's head coaches and media relations contacts. Junior guard Chynna Bozeman was named Preseason Player of the Year, and senior guard Tiffany Hamilton was also named on the Preseason All-Conference Team. Head coach Mike Bradbury's squad finished 17-14 last year and 11-7 in the league for fourth place. The Eagles return four starters and 10 letterwinners. The 17 wins were the fifth highest in school history.

The MSU men's team will be looking to defend its 2009 OVC Tournament crown with another spectacular season. The Eagles finished last season at 20-16 after winning its first conference championship in 25 years and earning a berth to the NCAA Tournament. Coach Donnie Tyndall's squad made Morehead State's sixth appearance in the NCAA tournament, playing in the opening-round game against Alabama State, the Southwestern Athletic Conference Champions. MSU defeated the Hornets 58-43, never trailing ASU. The Eagles advanced to play No. 1 seeded Louisville.

The women's team will open up the pre-season with an exhibition Saturday against Kentucky State at 5 p.m. The men hold their first exhibition on Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. versus Cedarville. Both exhibitions are home at Johnson Arena.
