Men's Golf Finishes 13th at Austin Peay

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Morehead State's men's golf team finished in 13th place at the F&M Bank Intercollegiate, played this week at the Links at Novadell - a par 72, 6,841-yard course. Alex Misback turned in a par scorecard in Tuesday's final round to lead the Eagles.

Misback finished in 18th place overall with a 71-75-72-218. Crit Reddick carded a 75-73-74-222 to take 43rd place, while Jared Flannery was in 47th place with a 74-75-74.

Joe Haydon was MSU's fourth finisher, and his card read 75-73-76-224. Sam Zirnheld finished with a 79-75-78-232 for 79th place.

Eastern Kentucky won the tournament with an 859 team total. Jacksonville State (5th), APSU (6th), Murray State (7th), SIUE (9th), Tennessee Tech (10th), Eastern Illinois (12th), Tennessee State (15th) and UT Martin (16th) also represented the OVC.

Ty Proffitt
Men's Basketball
Men's Basketball senior Ty Proffitt recorded a team-high 18 points on 5-of-6 from the field, 4-of-5 from three-point range and 4-of-4 from the free-throw line in Tuesday’s 75-69 victory over Norfolk State. 

He then registered a season-best 20 points on 6-of-10 from the floor, 4-of-7 from long range and 4-of-4 from the charity stripe in Saturday’s 56-50 win over Tennessee Tech. 

The guard, who hails from London, Ky., connected on 69 percent from the field (11-of-16) and 67 percent from downtown (8-of-12) in addition to making all eight free-throw attempts.  He also committed just four turnovers in 65 minutes last week.

Proffitt was also named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week for his performances this past week.

Brooke Helms
Women's Tennis
Junior women's tennis player Brooke Helms went undefeated in singles action over the weekend, as she tallied two individual match wins. 

Helms clinched the come-from-behind 4-3 victory over Big East power West Virginia, a 7-5, 2-6, 6-4 at number five singles.  Helms then was only one of two Eagle netters to score a win in a 5-2 loss at Duquesne , winning 6-3, 6-4 at number five.
