Mens Tennis Falls In OVC Tournament To Murray State
PADUCHA, Ky. - The Morehead State men's tennis team's season came to a close Friday afternoon as MSU fell to Murray State 4-2 in the first-round of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament. Anderson's win came at No. 2 singles when he defeated Murray State's Luka Milicevic 6-2, 6-1. Wolfson defeated Jose Berado 6-4, 6-3 in the No. 4 singles match. He also teamed with Dusan Milovanovic to earn an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles. Murray State's Ben Clos defeated Milovanovic 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, Racer Renaldo Domoney defeated Eagle Bradley Bryan 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 3 match, and Jadir Semensin defeated MSU's Nathan Blum 6-3, 1-6, 6-2 in the No. 6 match to clinch the win. Morehead State finished the season with a 9-6 overall record and a 4-4 conference mark. Murray State advances to face No. 1 seed Eastern Kentucky in the OVC semi-finals Saturday April, 18. Greg Anderson Named First-Team All-Conference
MOREHEAD, Ky. - Morehead State junior Greg Anderson was named First-Team All-Ohio Valley Conference for men's tennis. Anderson went 10-4 overall and 7-1 in conference play in men's singles this season. In doubles he posted a 7-5 overall record. The MSU men's tennis team posted a 9-6 overall record, an even 4-4 conference mark, and earned a spot in the OVC tournament where they will face Murray State on Friday, April, 17. "It is nice to see the coaches recognize the hard work Greg put in to return after missing a year and a half due to injury," said MSU head coach Kevin Fulton. Anderson was joined on the First-Team All-Conference team by Jacksonville State junior Eduardo Saratt, seniors Bernardo Bachino and Scott Robertson, Tennessee Tech sophomore Dean O'Brien and Eastern Kentucky sophomore Alex Das Izquierdo. O'Brien was named Player of the Year by the conference coaches, TTU rookie Justin Kirstein, earned Freshman of the Year honors, and Rob Oertel of Eastern Kentucky and JSU skipper Steve Bailey were named co-Coaches of the Year.

- Men's Tennis Seeded Fifth for OVC Championship
"Our guys have worked hard to make it into the OVC championship. We are looking forward to competing at the highest level, and if we can together play as a team, I think we have an excellent chance at winning the championship," said head coach Kevin Fulton.
The Eagles are making an appearance in the OVC championship for the first time since 2005. In the other quarterfinal match for the men Friday, number three Tennessee Tech will battle number six Eastern Illinois.
Eastern Kentucky's men and women both earned the number one seeds for the tournament by virtue of posting perfect 8-0 conference dual match records. The EKU teams will earn a bye into the second round. UT martin's women were the second seed on the women's side, while Jacksonville State took the second seed for the men, and both those squads will also receive byes on Friday. The Eagles will face EKU in the semifinals Saturday at 3 p.m. EST if they advance past Murray State in the opening round.
Murray State narrowly defeated the Eagles, 4-3, on March 27 in Murray. The Racers won two of the three doubles matches to take that point, and the teams split the six singles matches. In doubles, the number three Eagle tandem of Lovell Medcalf and Nathan Blum won 8-5.
In singles, Greg Anderson won in straight sets at number one for the Eagles, while Bradley Bryan did the same at number three. On the sixth court, Blum took a three-set victory. Against EKU on April 7 in Morehead, the Eagles fell 5-2. Anderson and Bradley each picked up singles victories over the Colonels, who went on to remain undefeated in conference play.

- Strong Singles Play Lifts Eagle Men To 4-3 Win
Senior Greg Anderson posted a victory at No. 1 singles, and sophomore Bradley Bryan earned a 6-2, 6-0 victory in the No. 4 slot. In doubles action the Eagles earned one victory when Blum and Medcalf defeated Harris and Shunataro Tukiyama 8-4 in the No. 3 match. With the win MSU improves to 8-5 overall and an even 3-3 in the OVC. The Eagles will continue OVC play on April 7 as they host rival Eastern Kentucky.
